I’ve been sorting through hundreds of photos taken over just a few hours of the beautiful Katie. We were lucky to have her stop over for a vist on her way back from Thailand and Australia. Naturally, this meant I had to snag some of her time to take photos. Vancouver’s weather was stunning for her entire visit – not only did it LOOK like summer, but it sure felt like it.

Now that the holiday haze is starting to clear, I am slowly starting to wrap my head around getting back into working on my side project. Naturally, I wanted to dive in head first without organizing the rest of our apartment and life. However, I have quickly learnt that if you are creating where you are living, it is ever so important to have your surroundings organized before getting messy. This is quite challenging when you live in a 600 square foot apartment with your significant other. We joke around that we are the couple with too much gear because of our love for extra curricular activities; snowboarding, biking, tennis, running, hockey, golf, photography, and of course my passion for creating jewelry. All of these supplies live with us. Literally. My work space is a 2 in 1 – a desk and a TV stand.
I love to juggle many things at once, but in 2013 I am vowing to finish one thing at a time, then move onto the next item on my TO-DO list. First up was to source supplies from the other side of the globe. I have ordered a few new sample costume chains (stay tuned) as well as enough to full-fill orders on this lovely piece. Originally I had only ordered a meter, which took 6 weeks to arrive, but upon arrival I loved the simplicity and sparkle of the chain. It is now back in stock on my Etsy and at a wonderful price point. The gold color goes great with most watches and other bracelet combinations.

During the last week of September, I had the opportunity to execute my first creative shoot for my new jewelry line. Hopefully, it will be the first of many! We were privileged to shoot with Australian native, Shannyn Higgins. Shannyn and I sat down a The Brixton – just off of Main Street on the edge of Crosstown – to review the hundreds of photos this past Tuesday.
We were able to narrow it down to about 50 photos that included a few behind the scenes, as well as the finals of the two beauties who graciously modeled for us. The finals of Christine and Natalie are coming soon, but for now, here are some of the candids from the day.
